Dr. George Curtis Singleton, affectionately known as Curtis, was born #8 of 9 children to hard-working parents on a farm in South Carolina where he attended Bamberg County Public Schools and The University of South Carolina. While operating a successful embroidery operation, he responded to a “tap on his shoulder” that he had for years avoided. Forsaking business success, Dr. Singleton enrolled in the Samuel DeWitt Proctor School of Theology at Virginia Union University. Upon graduation, he studied Clinical Pastoral Education in Norfolk, Virginia. Sensing an urge for more preparation, Dr. Singleton traveled north to complete New York Theological Seminary’s Doctor of Ministry Program in Pastoral Care and Counseling. Dr. Singleton is the former Director of Spiritual Care of Amorem Hospice which serves Western North Carolina. He has over 15 years of grief counseling and bereavement care.
His life experiences have made Psalm 3:3 his claim. He loves God’s creation and is a friend to humankind.
